In the second quarter of 2025, the top word puzzle games on the Android platform in South Africa displayed varied performance trends, according to Sensor Tower data.

Scrabble® GO-Classic Word Game by Scopely saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $536 in late May, following a steady upward trend. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at around 3.2K in mid-May, while active users initially declined from 14.3K to 7.1K before rebounding to 14.4K by the end of June.

Wordscapes Solitaire from PeopleFun experienced a consistent revenue rise, reaching around $499 at the end of April. Downloads spiked to about 2.7K in early May, and active users increased to 12.1K in mid-May, maintaining a strong presence throughout the quarter.

Wordscapes also by PeopleFun, maintained stable revenue, with a notable peak of $499 in late June. Downloads increased significantly towards the quarter's end, reaching approximately 3.6K, while active users showed a decline from 43.5K to 34.5K before a slight recovery.

NYT Games: Wordle & Crossword from The New York Times Company observed a gradual increase in revenue, culminating at $501 at the end of June. Downloads remained relatively steady, hovering around 500 weekly, while active users peaked at 23.5K in mid-May before a gradual decline.

Finally, Words With Friends Word Game by Zynga showed modest revenue growth, peaking at $408 in early June. Downloads were stable, with weekly numbers around the low hundreds, and active users slightly decreased from 784 to 735 over the quarter.
